celebrities makeup

When it comes to the secret of celebrities Makeup you may be wondering why celebrity makeup always seems so perfect and flawless. Well, a part from the fact that a lot of them have constant access to their own celebrity makeup artist, the secret to great looking makeup is just applying a few simple rules.
So if you want to have makeup like the celebrities, but do not have your own celebrity makeup artist following you around, here are my Top Ten tips on how to be your own "celebrity makeup artist".
  1. It is essential that you understand what skin type you have. Choosing makeup which is for a different skin type than you have, can result in damaged skin and spots. And we do not want that. On top of that, it will just look wrong. If you do not know what skin type you have, then one great way is to pop down to your local department store where they have the makeup stands etc, and ask a beautician. They should be able to advice you, and then you will know what type of products will suit your skin.
  2. Looking after your skin is paramount, and there is one sure way to guarantee premature aging, and that is the sun. You should always use a sunscreen, there are plenty of healthy ways to get colour into your face, without exposing your skin to the sun's rays. So for soft and young skin, protect your face with a sunscreen.
  3. New trends always bring different colors and shades. But remember, just because a certain color is in vogue, does not mean it will suit you. Search out the classic colors and shades, and find the colors that suit you. Wearing colors that do not suit your tones and hair etc, are a complete no-no, and a dead giveaway to amateur makeup time.
  4. Consider what your strengths are. Is it the eyes, the lips? Bring your strengths to the fore, and emphasize wonderful eyes, or luscious lips. Make those eyes pop, and the lips pout. Conversely, do not bring attention to those parts of the face you are less happy with.
  5. One massive mistake people make is to put on their makeup on in bad light. Why do think dressing room mirrors are surrounded by lights! Make sure you are applying your makeup in good light.
  6. Your face is framed by a few key elements, and one of these are the eyebrows. The eyebrows help frame the face, and give it that all important symmetrical look. Never over pluck your eyebrows, as you will look like some old woman who had a day in the Fifties. Get them sorted at your beauticians or think about visiting a threading salon. Keep them neat, tidy and under control. Poorly kept eyebrows are a dead giveaway to poor makeup. Any celeb in their right mind would not be seen dead with wild eyebrows.
  7. How do you think those celebrities have such wonderful eye lashes? The secret - go false. Trust me, they are not born with better lashed, they just buy them, and so should you. Effective application, with a bit of mascara added in the right place and you can have stunning eyes.
  8. When it is time for bed, get rid of that makeup. Going to bed in your makeup leads to more than just a dirty pillow. It is a short track to spots. Make removing your makeup part of your bedtime routine.
  9. Looking after your skin is crucial, and having even a basic routine is essential, wash, scrub, moisturize. Moisturizing is so important. To prolong that young looking skin, and to prevent it drying out, moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. To fight off the ageing effects of everyday living, and keep the face supple. Supplement this with drinking lots of water throughout the day. This is especially essential for those office bound of us. Air con is not a friend of good skin.
  10. Quality is king. Always go for quality products, after all, it is going on your face, and your face deserves quality products. The celebs will not skimp when it comes to good makeup, and if you want to look like a celeb, neither should you. It does not mean you have to spend at the top end of the market, just choose high quality items for the various essentials, blush, eye shadow, lipstick.
Remember, celebrities are just human, like you and I. They get pimples, and have bad hair and makeup days, but one thing is certain, when it counts they take time on their makeup. Yes they have troops of make up artists at their beck and call, but just by applying a few simple tips and techniques you can enhance your own natural beauty and build your confidence. Let your beauty shine through.
